Library ‘Builds Back Better’

Minchinhampton Community Library Trust has been awarded a grant of £2,000 by Gloucestershire County Council from the Build Back Better Scheme. The Bid had the support of local councillor, Chloe Turner, and will be used to purchase more books and display stands, to improve library signage and carry out ground improvements.

The Build Back Better Scheme is a county councillor led community initiative grant programme that is accessible to all community and voluntary groups to provide funding to help communities recover, rebuild and protect themselves from the impacts of COVID-19.

The Library Trust Chair Michelle Handoll, said “It’s hoped that the money will improve access to a valuable local resource, make the library more visible and attractive as a destination and enable us to play our part in making Minchinhampton and its surroundings a better place to live.”

Local Councillor, Chloe Turner, said “Minchinhampton Community Library is such a huge asset for our town, as are the wonderful volunteers who run it. I was delighted to be able to support this application from my GCC Build Back Better fund allocation.”
